Cost: $110 for Members / $220 for Non-Members to exhibit. Free to attend.
The Volunteering Expo is a one-stop-shop for individuals to find out about volunteering opportunities in the Canberra community whilst enjoying great food and live music.
The Expo provides a unique opportunity for the public to engage with volunteer-involving organisations, register their interest in roles and learn more about the programs on offer in Canberra.

2022 Volunteering Symposium
Date: Monday 16 May 2022
Time: 9am – 5:00pm and 5:30 – 7:00pm
Location: Hybrid (Online / In person at VolunteeringACT’s Events and Training Hub, Level 3, 202 City Walk, Canberra)
Cost: Day session – $25 for Members, $50 for non-members. Evening session – Free!
The 2022 Volunteering Symposium is a full-day professional development opportunity dedicated to Managers and Coordinators of Volunteers, followed by an evening session for people interested in learning more about governance, or who may be thinking about becoming a Board or Committee member.
Over the four daytime sessions, Managers and Coordinators of volunteers will hear from industry professionals, sector leaders and innovators, learn about the changing face of volunteering, volunteering recovery, and how volunteer management practice is evolving.
The evening session will focus on ‘Governance 101’ and give attendees a chance to understand how governance underpins all successful organisations. This is a really useful session not only for those interested in moving into a Board or Committee position but also for all Managers and Coordinators of volunteers.

Introduction to Volunteering

Overview: What does it mean to volunteer? How do you find the right volunteering role? What are your rights and responsibilities as a volunteer? This session will give you a better understanding of what volunteering is and what it involves. It will also cover how to find a volunteering role, and what you can expect as you begin your volunteering journey. Attendees will be invited to share their experiences and discuss their volunteering goals.
Wellbeing and Boundaries in Volunteering Workshop
Date: Thursday 19 May 2022
Time: 10am – 12:00pm

Overview: As a volunteer, it can be difficult to maintain boundaries in your role and with those you work with. This workshop will identify what boundaries are, why boundaries & mental wellbeing are so important, and how to manage difficult situations, how we can apply mental health, well-being & resilience to volunteering.
