ACT Policing Multicultural Liaison

CMCF has and memorandum of understanding with ACT Policing. We regularly work together on community programs.  Information on the ACT Policing Multicultural Liaison Team can be found at http://www.police.act.gov.au/community/programs/multicultural-liaison.aspx

The Crime Reduction teams are available to provide presentations to community groups and organisations about a range of issues.  Requests for presentations can be made via act-community-requests@afp.gov.au.

Contacting Police for Assistance

There are three ways to contact police and request assistance:

For life threatening or time critical emergencies dial 000 (triple zero) or on some mobile phones 112 will also work.  When asked who you require state Police.  If necessary Fire and Ambulance can also be requested.  Be prepared to answer the questions of the operator.

To request police attendance and assistance to non-emergency situations dial 131 444.  Be prepared to answer the questions of the operator.

To report incidents or information that are not time critical ring Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.  Reports can also be made via the internet to the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppers.act.com.au.  Reports made to Crime Stoppers can be made anonymously.

Some questions the operator will ask may include:

  • What is your location
  • Who are you
  • What is happening
  • Who is involved
  • Are there any injuries, etc.
