Hello Community Partners,
The ACT Government wants to understand how it can improve its programs and services to better address the needs of women and girls. The ACT Women’s Plan 2016-26is an ambitious 10 year plan to create an ACT that values and respects women and girls and commits to achieving gender equality.
We are now looking towards the final action plan under the ACT Women’s Plan, the Third Action Plan. The Third Action Plan will aim to expand on existing work to achieve gender equality and identify areas where more work is needed.
To help us expand on existing work to improve gender equality, we are focusing on 5 priority areas for the Third Action Plan for women. Click on each priority area for more information on the topic, and what the ACT Government is doing to progress these priorities.
- Health and wellbeing
- Safety and inclusion
- Leadership and workforce participation
- Housing and homelessness
- Appropriate and accessible services.
Women, girls and people of all genders are encouraged to participate in our consultation for the Third Action Plan to help shape the ACT Government’s future work towards gender equality.
The ACT Government recognises the importance of responding to the experiences of people of all genders, ages, sexualities, cultural backgrounds, people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and people with disability. To make sure we continue to break down barriers to accessing services and support, we encourage Canberrans from all walks of life to participate in consultation and share their views on the Third Action Plan.
Get involved by:
- completing an online survey for individuals
- holding a group conversation
- responding to the online survey for groups
- making a submission
- contacting us directly.
Responses to the surveys will be anonymous and will help the ACT Government better understand the perspectives and experiences of people of all genders.
Contributions are being requested by no later than 5pm, Tuesday 28 February 2023. We will consider all input as it is received, so we encourage early submissions.
If you have questions about the Third Action Plan consultation or require any additional information, please contact the Office for Women at women@act.gov.au or call 02 6205 5681.
