The National Ethnic Disability Alliance (NEDA) is concerned at recent reports that some people living with disability and their carers from the culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CaLD) and/or non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB) community have had difficulties in establishing care plans and have had issues around engagement with the NDIS and the service providers that have been contracted to support and assess the needs of this very vulnerable group.

NEDA is concerned that its members are at risk of falling through the cracks due to issues around language and culture and the lack of cultural competency of those people who have been charged with the task of evaluating the needs of our consumers.

NEDA is therefore conducting a survey to gauge the level of engagement of the CaLD/NESB community with NDIS. To access the survey CLICK HERE. For further information, contact NEDA on 02 6262 6867, email ceo@neda.org.au or visit them on Facebook.
